My Oldest Daughter has the easiest birthday date to remember. She was born May 6th 1977: 5-6-7.
Well she'll be turning 40 in the not too distant future and her husband called and said the there would be a Birthday Party on the 6th at their home and asked if I would be the 'Grill Master' doing dogs and burgers and I said I'd do my best.
He also asked if I could bring my baked beans. I said sure.
I'm a firm believer in practicing the 6 P's.

So I started making the baked beans today so that they would be done and just need re-warmed for the great event.
I rinsed the small white/Navy beans well then covered them in water and allowed them to soak overnight in the frig. After draining the beans I then chopped the bacon and onion and placed them (only 1/2 if the bacon) in the bottom of my Lodge 12" 'campfire' Dutch Oven (it's designed to be used over coals) anyway it looked like this;

Then the semi-precooked beans were added;

Then the remaining chopped bacon was added;

Then the molasses, sugar, salt, dry mustard etc was mixed and added;

Water added and then covered and ready to go in the oven;

After about 7 hours I have Cuda's Version of Boston Baked Beans!

I had them in multiple changes of cold water to cool them down quickly for food safety. :tu

That looks like a plough share wok, I was looking at those on you tube. Apparently they work quite well. Looking forward to future pics !:angel:
Thanks I know them as a Discada. Google that and you will find lots of info. I'll post some pics when I fire it up.
I used my Wagner Ware #8 skillet on the new, flat top stove for the first time. The skillet is a bit of a spinner.

I was under the impression that these were made from Harrow Discs..
Attachment 262906
With the center hole welded over and handles welded on..
I bet some smart individual is getting the Discs "Before" the hole(s) are drilled and working from there :)
