Well it's supposed to get up to 102 degs F here in Walla Walla so what brilliant idea does cuda think up?????? Make Baked Beans from scratch/Baked Beans that can take up to 7-8 hours of baking time.

So my wall shaker air conditioner had been running full time during the day these last few 96-98 deg days so how is he going to keep the Boars Nest cool while he bakes the beans???

    Traeger Them Of Course!

At 102 you should just be able to point the open black traeger to the sun with no fire and cook them that way.

    Done like dinner.
Served with grilled peppers drizzled in garlic evo and balsamic reduction. Paprika roasted potatoes.
The sauce is a Canadian chicken joints sauce, Swiss chalet dipping sauce,, so good.

Yessir Roy, that’s the stuff. Got a unique goes good with chicken tang..
I buy it in a ready to make powder at the grocery chain..
Just add 2 cups water, bring to a boil and simmer.
But from scratch would be pretty damn tasty too.

Did you uncover the beans to infuse smoke into them?

I have to admit to a certain amount of salivating over them. Reaching for some imaginary bread to dip into the pot.

I only uncovered the beans to take the picture. I used some of the trimmings and the skin from my homemade bacon in the beans. I used Hickory for smoking the bacon so there's plenty of smoke flavor to it.

I can see that the outside of your pot is discolored. Hard to clean? If you left it open to long I could see the water evaporating but a little while especially at the beginning would certainly add some smokiness if needed or wanted.
