Thanks Mick, Nightblade and Ed for the education, might have to pick up some Marmite! Oh and I have been curious about Bovril since I first heard about it on Top Gear a couple years back.... I love things like Au Jus, Tomato Juice, French Onion soup, etc, so I think these savory products such as Bovril and Marmite might be up my alley...

Thanked: 603Although I'm "off the swine", I love egg 'n cheese sandwiches. Sometimes, I'll put a different cheese on each piece of bread, and the eggs between them... bleu cheese and gruyere are great antagonists.
Something else: This is such a great photo that you've posted, Lynn; are you thinking of doing so regularly in the SOTD forum! ;-)You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

A perfectly sweet garden tomato, Vidalia onion slice or two, mayo, fresh top quality bakery white bread.....this is the foundation and many things have been added but standing alone this sandwich is so good it can turn a bad decision into a good one.
