Thanked: 983This batch has only been in overnight. I tossed the last batch for the same reason. I thought I had buggered up the brew time, but obviously it wasn't that. I'll give your suggestion a go on the next batch. I'm going to drink this lot. I've added a bit of lemon to it. I don't go much for sweet tea except on the odd occassion that calls for an energy kick. I like to stay away from suger/sweetners if I can.
Luke, What work requires a fitness test? You in the police or military or something?

Thanked: 983I will get some new teas when I run this old stock on hand down. I will get a few of the fruity/floral styles when I do. In the mean time it's Dilmah tea bags and Earl grey loose leaf. My wife, bless her kind heart, I ask her to buy more tea, something different, and she always comes home telling me she got something different, but I always have a box or two of the same stuff sitting and waiting to be used...I might have to get my lazy backside off the couch and go and get my own tea next time. Need more exercise than just extending my arm out for the remote control anyway...

Iced Tea...
My two cents first...
I make my tea by color... The color I want is the color that I drink...
Clean water & Clean Ice make the flavor the best... No sugar is nessessary if that's the case...
Drink the tea the same day... I have stored Iced Tea over night, but it's gone by noon...
If it has a sour taste... Get rid of it... I've heard of people getting food poison from bad tea...
Question: Why does my iced tea turn cloudy?
Answer: Iced tea usually turns cloudy because you've chilled it too quickly, like putting it straight into the fridge while still quite warm. Various particles in the tea (like tannin) come out of solution and darken your iced tea.
Let your freshly made iced tea cool to room temperature before putting it in the fridge.Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated...

Thanked: 10I know this question wasn't directed at me, but I figured I'd jump in and give my two cents.
As I understand, the "tea toys" (what I've heard them referred to in China anyways) are akin to many Chinese ornamentation, be it in the home, your vehicle, or your desk at work. Often, the meanings can be found by examining the type of animal or the characters inscribed upon them. I've been told that it is not uncommon for you to purchase, for example, an animal corresponding to your birth year, or pieces with characters for longevity or prosperity. However, they do not, by any means, all carry some deeper significance - sometimes it's just about evoking a pleasant visual experience for your guests.
Tell me about it! It seems the Europeans also took fancy with the exotic cultures of Turkey (Turquerie) and China (Chinoiserie) in the late 18th century. What are we to do other than follow in their footsteps

Chinese Golden Toad Tea Tray Display Ornament/Mascot
The golden toad is a lengendary creature in ancient China, who is regarded as the dragon's brother. It is widely used in many decaration areas in China, since it is said it can bring the fortunes. So we normally put the golden toad in our tea tray with its face towards to the door in the day time, which means it absorbs fortunes into the house. Then at night, we change the direction with its face towards the interior of the house, which means all the wealth and treasure can be kept at this house.
Hence, the golden toad is a symbol of wealth and treasure in China. It is called golden toad literally, however, it does not mean its color is golden.
There are many more, Tea Tray Display Ornament/Mascot...Life is like a cup of tea... it's all in how you make it...
