I feel a man should show restraint, so I only had a bacon...a pound of bacon.

I went to the local butcher once, and had him cut me some bacon a 1/4 of an inch thick. Now that was living, when I had that. Bit pricey though, so a rare treat.

It shouldn't have cost any more than two 1/8th inch pieces? It should be cheaper. Less cuts per slab than thinner!! As soon as I can get around, I have an invite to go kill some hogs up on the Buttes, (strange mountain range in the middle of the valley) about twelve miles from here. They have a deprivation permit, so they kill them whenever they can! I'll have it made into sausage, but I want to smoke the hams and belly myself. That oughta throw a wrench in my diet!!

ahh memories of my youth, growing up we would raise 2 hogs just for the fall butcher, some nice cured sidemeat was all ways something to look forward to, and it was always cut very thick. those were the days

I drink nothing but coffee (12 cups in the A.M.) and a Starbucks Carmel macchiato (3 shots espresso) for lunch and plain iced tea (1 gal. brewed daily) till bed time. My health numbers are all perfect according to the Doc. I could cut out the Starbucks and should but I take lunch at 9:00 am and it is my daily indulgence. If I did quit that and smoking I would be perfect and there is some law against that I hear. "Nobody is perfect" or something like that. :<0)

Well then you are needing to find the coffee lovers thread...Not as popular as the tea lovers thread, but we know it's all around here somewhere...I think I can smell the odour of bad coffee coming from over there somewhere ---->
