Tea anyone ??!!

Well I figured on this 73 degree, first day of autumn a nice crisp and clean glass of Iced Tea is in order... Luzianne bags brewed at the perfect time and temperature... Not to light and not too dark, but just right...

Served up with clean ice (the secret) in a crystal clear hand blown glass...

Pick yourself up an inexpensive chawan. There are some nice, lower priced, mass produced Mino yaki bowls on yuuki-cha.
In fact, the bizen yaki chawan are very reasonably priced, too.

There are also a couple of good eBay sellers with some inexpensive vintage and new artisan chawan. Japanese.artisan and katsuragi_japan come to mind.

That's a lovely oribeyaki piece! Good luck! I may be wrong -- I often am -- but it looks fairly small. It looks quite narrow and deep, and I'm not sure why the potter has written 茶盌 rather than 茶椀. You may find it a fairly awkward shape to begin with.

Nevertheless, it is a beautiful bowl!

Lately I've been chopping up a lemon and putting it and a small handful of hibiscus flowers, some ginseng and two tea spoons of palm sugar in a coffee plunger and pouring hot water over it. Very refreshing, it is. Sometimes I add a bit of this and that; maybe some peppermint, etc.

I think it's quite fun buying dried herbs from the health food shop and mixing with some green tea.

What?! That was EXACTLY what I was thinking. But of course I had to Google it (Google Translate) and Google says they say the same thing. Google says with the first character (that seems to mean tea) and the second character together it says teacup. But it seems the second character by itself means bowl. Please explain. I do realise I've just asked you to explain an entire communication system to me but, hey, you got something better to do?

I normally see chawan written 茶椀 so I'm wondering whether 茶盌 has been used specifically because of the style and shape of the bowl.
