There are also some that are aged as well. And different roasting levels. Oolongs can be lightly roasted , which is the norm or medium roasted. The ones that are stored (aged) are roasted a bit more and then re-roasted every few years to ensure that there is not too much moisture in the leaves. (Yes, I learned all of his from books \m/ ).

I particulary like the milk Oolong we got from Souvia, but they have one at JAS-eTea that is good but not as good - at least to my senses anyway, and it's way cheaper. So I may use that for everyday drinking and save the other for those days that I want something with a little more robustness and toastiness about it.

Huh, Oolongs sound like a really diverse group of teas. I'm sure it'll be interesting exploring them. Black teas will probably still be my favourite category on average, but it looks like Oolongs will make a close second.

Anyway, I got sick overnight and woke up in the middle of the night with a really sore throat. So today, all I've been drinking is this herbal tea. The ingredients in it are licorice root, nana mint, fennel, anise, cocoa, pineapple, ginger, peppermint, nettle leaf, chili, peppers, cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, safflower blossoms, and marigold blossoms. It does a better job of numbing my sore throat than any cold-and-flu pill, but as soon as the cup's empty, the soreness comes right back so I have to go make some more immediately.

    Stupid cold... *grumbles*

Since my local grocery store started carrying plain old PG Tips in their "international" food section, I have been using it.

SO MUCH tea today: 1 cup of black tea from Sikkim, India, 3 cups of milk oolong, 2 cups of Nepalese black tea, 2 cups of chai, 1 cup of sheng pu-erh. I should probably call it a day...

For years PG Tips was my go to. Nothing wrong with it. It's common mans everyday tea and it's awesome on blustery days with milk n sug. And I've said it before that bag teas even have their levels of good to bad .

Thanks for the recommendation. It looks like an interesting oolong, and at quite a reasonable price too. I'll definitely have to check it out.
