Yeah I don't know what is is. McDonald's coffee is pretty good. People make cracks about them but honestly for the price and the speed they usually have a pretty good product all the way around. Not sure what's up with their tea though. It tastes like paper.
In the south sweet tea is sweeter than other places. Sometimes very sweet. Since I drink it unsweetened I always check before I walk or drive off. Sometimes they give you what you need, not what you ordered.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

Agreed
Coffee is passable.
Their sweet tea would gag a buzzard. Nuff said.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Thanked: 1160I don't differentiate really and I do know the difference. iced tea is iced tea and down South they like it super sweet. You see jugs of it in the Piggly Wiggly's and Walmatrs down there. I prefer mine moderate but that being said home made is always best.

Thanked: 1160Guys I gotta be honest and if it's snobbery , it's not meant to be. I've been drinking good Brit tea since 13 and I'm 56 now. America is a coffee nation and as such that's what we know well. But when it comes to tea a small percentage of us know the truth when it comes to tea The Brits .Chinese and Russian got us beat way long ago in the tea world and I'm sorry but I can't string you along. I wouldn't touch a box of Lipton . I'm sorry. Not even for iced and The teas I drink aren't necessarily top of the gold line but they are the everyday that the average Joe in Britain or Ireland drink because they know it's good.
I'm not trying to mock you so apologies if that's how it comes across.I wouldn't touch any American brand of tea off the mainstream grocery shelf including the Twinnings which has the Royal appointment seal on it even because ,I've had it and I'm convinced that the stuff they ship to the states is made for American taste for folks who are not savvy to good teas. And that's just matter of opinion. But hey, if you asked me what I think of Clubman's lilac vegetal I could say oh sure good stuff but then my inner voice would be saying grass clippings and wee wee. Opinions are like you know what's and we all got one and mine is not the end all to be all.
Again I stress , if you like it then that's okay and I'm honestly not smirking at you but I just was shown the way a very long time ago. If I brought a box of Tetley or Lipton to the house of any of my Irish English or Aussie friends they would think I was trying to be funny and would chew me out for being so. And fast food joint beverages of any kind to me are just that ....fast food. If I loved instant coffee and brought it to your house as do many people and in Mexico you find it all over there(Nescafe). You would probably think I was trying to punk you. But down there they love the stuff....I'll take a good cup of American Joe thanks.
So that being said I feel a whole lot better now because I can't lie. So let the anger fly I guess.
Again sorry. But if I'm gonna go on I gotta be true too what I like and not try to lie behind my teeth.Last edited by Nightblade; 04-17-2020 at 11:41 PM.

You can like what you like, me personally I haven’t found any UPPER end teas that I care for, hot or cold, always taste like dirt to me but hey we are all different, just like my bourbon, not every one likes the same thing

Thanked: 1160like I said the teas I like are not considered upper end they are considered everyday good drinking tea.But some call Jim Beam Upper end while others would not. Case in point...my boss who's a Born and Bred Tennessee man just tonight said Jim Beam makes him gag and he;s a big Boubon drinker some people would get really offended by that so is he supposed to lie. cause his opinion is just as valid as theirs.

Tried the monk fruit and it tastes a little hollow to me. I guess if you can't have sugar it's better than most alternatives but I'll stick with sugar.
And yeah Nightblade that did come out a little snooty. Whatever, it's cool. I've tried a bunch of different kinds of teas as iced tea as well. Classic iced tea should be light clean and crisp to the palate. The astringency of Lipton is perfect for that. JMHO. Actually Lipton is as good a tea as any of the major brands like Bigelow, Twinings and Taylor's (all of which I consider staples but not.fine tea). It's just best used as iced tea. Sir Thomas Lipton was actually a pretty interesting guy and without him you and I probably wouldn't be able to enjoy tea. Before him it was a thing of the aristocracy. He lived in Glasgow by the way. As far as "American teas" you should try American Classic Tea. It's the only American tea, grown and processed on Wadmalaw Island near Charleston. It's the only tea plantation in North America. I'd give it a close second to Lipton for iced tea.Last edited by PaulFLUS; 04-18-2020 at 01:16 PM.
