Thanked: 443Sugar cubes are not made, they are mined. Two-man teams with very narrow saws cut them from the deposits. It is a job for dry weather. The mine bosses are traditionally known as "Sugar Daddies."
The earliest sugar cubes were mined from Big Rock Candy Mountain, until its tragic collapse.
The waste material from sawing is knocked free from the sugar sawyers' dust masks and sold as powdered sugar.
Next week: How aphids are used to collect maple syrup."These aren't the droids you're looking for." "These aren't the droids we're looking for." "He can go about his business." "You can go about your business."

Kagoshima sencha from Zencha this afternoon, can't recall exactly which one it is but it seems to be mid-steam sencha. Fresh, bright & crisp with a little umami and the colour of the liquor is stunning. I've had 7 brews using fairly cool water, another few using just off the boil water and there's still flavour hiding in that pot.

Howdy Gents,
I'm looking to get a tea set for Oolong tea. I'm completely new to this, and would love to get suggestions for good sites to browse. I've looked around, but I'm sure you guys have some favorite sites and I would love to check them out. I'm looking for something to brew for two, is that a mistake? I don't entertain much, and it will usually be just me and my daughter. I guess I need a tea kettle, the glass ones look cool, a tea pot, strainer, serving pitcher, and cups?? Anyway, any and all help would be great.
Thanks in advance, donv

Dragon Teahouse is worth a look. Gordon has a huge variety of teaware and a browse might give you a better idea of what you fancy. Green Black Yellow White Red items in Dragon Tea House Chinese Tea Accessories Cups Teapots store on eBay! If you have money to burn there are plenty places with high end teaware.
Personally for oolong for two I'd be getting a plain white ceramic gaiwan, around 100-150ml, two cups & a kettle.

Thanked: 298Yes my friend, well you see, you need for oolong tea brewing a teapot. for me the best is an Yixing tea pot. (The gaiwans I use mostly for green tea.)
You must have also strainer, serving pitcher, and cups.
For you and for your daughter enough one teapot with 120-150 ml content.
Tools and teas you can find on eBay or from merchants:
Dragon Tea House
Pu-erh tea, Chinese tea,Oolong Tea, Black Tea, Organic Green Tea, Wu-long tea.
Tea Habitat, A traditional Chinese tea shop, specializing in Feng Huang Dan Cong - Phoenix Single Bush Oolong Teas
Cheers,
