How's the soy sauce marinated steak? Never done it before, but it looks good.
Really.
I'll try that on the next cook out.
Do you dilute the soy sauce down?
No sir,
Just put the steaks on a platter and pour straight Kikko-Man soy sauce over 'em, lift 'em up so it gets under 'em, flip after 30 or 40 minutes, wait another 30 or 40 minutes and heat 'em up and eat 'em up. Time isn't real critical on the marinating, the longer they soak, the saltier they get is all.
If salt is an issue, you can try the low salt version.
Nice work. Looks like you grilled a mean steak.
Looks great willie

my mom has always used a mixture of soy sauce, mustard and spices as a steak marinade. The secret with soy sauce is its a fast marinade and you cant let it sit more than about an hour or it will make the steak too salty. I personally prefer to just rub them with olive oil, salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder.
Just tryin to get back to the day when I could chip the porcilin (SP) of the backside of the urinal, not there yet.
I recall a time back in the day, we boys would have pissen contests, see who could write ther name on the backyard fence.
I actually gave that a try yesterday, sadly,I just got my shoes wet:(
I used to be able to piss over a 5 strand barb wire fence.
I'd have wet boots if I tried it now I think.
I've quit taking all that pee freely stuff. Wasn't helping anybody but the dope pushers. The doc told me it was surgery or deal with it.
I'll deal with it. ;)
Good looking grub! I like the looks of the homemade Ranch Dressing.

I OD'd! :p
It was more a late lunch than a dinner but it was absolutely delicious so I had to share. Stopped off at Crabby Bills in Tarpon Springs on the way to the beach. Downed a dozen huge Apalachicola oysters with cocktail sauce and horseradish for an appetizer. Then came a very unique sandwich called a Philly Grouper. It's put together like a Philly Cheese Steak but instead of steak they use grilled grouper (a local variety of sea bass.) The sandwich was kicked up a notch with some diced jalapenos, steak house fries and sweet tea on the side. A fantastic lunch. If you're ever in the area do yourself a favor and stop by this place for lunch. It's right across the street from the Sponge Docks.
A few days ago on my favorite island; Malta.

Is a way to have the best food products on the cheap in tough economic times.
Using the lost arts (such as this site is all about) is sadley something todays generation will never know about.
Canning, cheese making, meat preservation, gardening, breadmaking are the most enjoyable pastimes a person can do.
I also love makin bacon:)

Living in the land of fruits and Knutz can at times be a drag, but kali also has some really good foodstuffs,Wine, Dungeness crab, fresh caught Salmon, and ARTICHOKES the best of the best.
Being that the inland temps here in Sillycone Valley were headed to about 100, the wife and I took a run to the coast (maybe an hr away) first stop, castroville, the artichoke capital of the world (a nice 68 degs at noon)
So we bought some jumbo chokes for cooking (5 for a buck, cut this morning) bought 40 minis for 5 bux, peel them, trim, blanch them in boiling water for 6 mins, take the smallest ones, some olive oil.some tarragon viniger, some spices, pickle them for about a week, the rest, flash freeze, batter them up, fry them in oil.
As crazy as kali is,we got good food products:)
