A medley of Indian foods cooked by my good lady wife.

Tonight was duck breast with shrimp and asparagus risotto - yum!
I went to the trouble of peeling the shrimp and making broth out of the shells first - the extra flavor is absolutely worth the little effort. I was also thinking about making a sauce for the duck (probably orange based) but decided that it would be to overwhelming with the risotto, so I ditched the idea and just marinated the breasts for an hour with garlic, pepper, olive oil and worcestershire sauce.
It was perfect - the richness of both paired very nicely and the acidity was provided by the russian river pinot noir (I used a bit of gewurtztraminer in the risotto, but that did mostly flavor)

I'm guess I'm going to have to really work on my curried chicken thighs with a rice/lentil combo & green salad dinner. Vodka tomolivetini to start. If I rememebr I will take a photo before hunger overwhelms me.
Deep fried Crappie French Fries Hush puppys cole slaw. Sweet Ice Tea. Coconut cake.

First brisket and beef short ribs...a long 14 hours but well worth it!
Those Morels...you guys taunt me with those y'know. I would give anything for a jaunt in the woods after a rain shower in the Midwestern woods. Used to eat'em by the bushel we did in my family.
Oh absolutely sir and seconds on the cake too. Well seconds on all of it really.
Man...14 hours of love there .
