The notes for the last rum i bought would probably have said "tastes like cheap rum".
Now I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of rum but pusser's gunpowder strength is very good, I though. Being a whisky drinker, I found it to have a bit of a light mouthfeel, but most spirits that aren't scotch whisky feel like that to me.

In terms of taste. Heavy on the figs, dates, Demerara sugar, maybe a touch of vanilla but not too much. Rich, warm and sweet in a spicy way, not a sickly way.

Would buy again. I'd suggest giving the 15 year old a go. I've heard the blue label is just as good too, if you're on more of a budget.

My weapon of choice is Glen Moray 12 year old single malt. Really fine whisky.

Wild Oak From Sixty-Six Gilead distillery a Canadian whiskey made like a bourbon that tastes more like a scotch.
Found it while on vacation this summer, little distillery tucked away in a corner of some very nice countryside near the Sandbank sin Ontario.

I might give it a go soon. I've got several unopened bottles of whisky in the cupboard so I might not get it right away, but then I still have a load of summer money left over. Maybe I'll buy a sofa and see how much is left.

A'Bunadh for me last night. I've been working on a review for it, so hopefully I'll get that up this weekend.

I had a drop of Glengoyne 18 this evening at a friends place. Very nice, I think I'll be buying a bottle soon. It was great to meet his brand new son as well. 8 days old and not as slimy as I'd expected. Successful evening all round.

There's an Arran single cask release that I've got my eye on for £50 odd. I've also been tempted recently just by a regular highland park 12. Would still love an 18 but can't afford.

    Nice thread...

Many single malts I have never even seen, let alone tried.

I am not a big fan of Rum itself but enjoyed the 14yr Balvenie Caribbean Cask quite a bit.

That final aging in a rum barrel really made it unique.
