I quite like the caraway, though I remember the more balanced flavours being more enjoyable. The miniatures were great but looking back now, I can't remember which were better or why.

I might buy a bottle of whatever I can find available, as long as it's not dirt cheap with poor reviews, soon. I'm kinda after something different from whisky or rum so I think either an aquavit or an absinthe but decent absinthe tends to be quite expensive.

So, I bought my mum a 'Campbeltown whisky tasting set' for her birthday as something a bit different (and less expensive...!), which includes samples of springbank 15, hazelburn 12, kilkerran something-or-other, glen scotia something and maybe a longrow peated.
Keen to know what the kilkerran is like as I've eyed bottles before.
Anyway, to take advantage of postage etc, I also ordered a bottle of the red Aalborg aquavit, which is cheap but apparently pretty good.

Well, curiosity got the best of me and I caved in.
I'm enjoying a glass of "Straight Edge" bourbon right now.
The bottom line on this is that it's made in Kentucky and Tennessee. Then they ship it to California and age it in wine casks. They ship it out from Napa, California.
You can definately taste the the aging and flavor from the wine casks. Has a subtle sweetness on the finish and is very smooth and tasty.
I will definately buy this again.

I had been enjoying the Talisker Storm, but this is definitely a step up. It makes the Storm seem like a watered down version of Talisker.

Check the alcohol volume. I think it might be just that...

I was watching some reviews on YouTube last night about Johnnie Walker Platinum and Blue label. So I decided to give the Black label another try. I enjoyed it better this time around, but maybe I was caught up in the flashiness of the Blue and Platinum labels. Still, don't think I'll buy another bottle of JW.

I'm actually getting kind of tired of the distinctive nuances of single malts (crazy, right?). I think my next bottle will be good old JW Black.

But then again, I even like White Horse, Famous Grouse, Dewar's, and other blends at times.

I recently finished a bottle of hirsch small batch whiskey. Price is good and it tastes great to me. Smoky and smooth. I prefer it over most of the other whiskeys I've tried, but I'm a noob so that's not very many.
