The tipple this evening was lurking in the background yesterday. This bottle was bought for me by my brother last week.
Monkey Shoulder, a blend of 3 Speyside malts, Kininvie, Balvenie and Glenfiddich.
The bottle is adorned with 3 brass monkeys, one for each of the malts.
'Monkey Shoulder' was a nickname given to a temporary injury some malt men occasionaly suffered many years ago as a result of repeatedly bending over whilst turning the malt with wooden shovels.

This is my first glass, very smooth, malty sweet, dry, a bit of vanilla, very drinkable actually, I can see this finding a regular place.

A nice little 'slug' in a heavy Jasper Conran Waterford crystal tumbler.

Enjoy your drink this evening, and cheers
