Makes an espresso all the way up to a long americano and it paid for itself twice over in coffee shop avoidance.
Usually fill it with lavazza but every now and then we'll run a hopper of bulletproof coffee just to clean out the chamber as it were..

Wow - looks very cool - what is the model make, can't quite make it out, and does the coffee come out nice and very hot? One thing with the Keurig and the Tassimo machines, seem to not make a super hot cup of coffee I find?

The maker saeco, model is the odea giro plus.
We gave away our Keurig, and the Tassimo lives at pigeon lake for the same reasons. Not hot enough.
This one is. It has two stainless boiler tanks inside and can go from steam to boil in seconds as the tanks can run at different temps simultaneously. Tamps the grinds to the right tension automatically for each cup, and you can adjust the grind shot three levels which vary by about an 1/8 oz between each strength setting. Auto discharges the spent grind puck to an inside waste container as well, so clean and fast. Side wand can dispense steam or boiling water which is handy for tea or cup o soup.
Had it for 5 years now and it gets used hard by 5 coffee drinkers. Auto descale sensor tells me when that's due and I run reverse osmosis water only through it.
Really was worth every penny even though the wife flipped at the time..

I do blend my own coffee. the real departure from the norm for me is to brew it with just a touch of cinnamon and a 1/8 teaspoon of pure cocoa (unsweetened). That makes a dynamite pot.

Yummm!! It's all in the crema. You only get good crema when everything is right. Bean, grind, pack, pressure & temperature and pull time.

Seems there is no end to the enabling you guy's are capable of. I have a small sunbeam espresso machine(was cheap but works ok), mocca pot and 2 bodum french presses. I large maybe 4 cup and the other is a double wall travel cup with the press inside. Have a crappie electric blade grinder that works ok if you shake it ok while using but after reading the thread seems I may want a hand grinder and possibly a pour over a vac pot to try as well.

So today I brought a hand grinder for my beans. A zassenhaus. Was a choice of 2 zassenhaus and one de ve but this one had no wobble in the bearings and the finish in the hopper was the best. Pulled it apart when I got home and fully cleaned it. Put a small touch of silicone non tox grease in the bottom bearing and 1 drop of oil in the top bearing. Spend a little time centering the bottom bracket so when grinding its all even. Grinds perfectly from powder to coarse and runs smooth as. Now I just need to get some good beans to feed it. Here's a pic for you.
