Ok lads not sure on the degree of Coffee nuts here but my mates brother Ross Spencer makes his own coffee espresso systems & grinders & etc here in Aus
these are top notch standalone hand held systems all fully made by Ross here in Aus
the only components he does not make him self are the gauges & SS filter bowl inserts
Ross is a real perfectionist & has put a lot of effort over many years into perfecting & growing his systems that will last for generations to come
he has had great reviews by Coffee Snobs from all over
So if you are a chaser of the elusive perfect brew from a hand held take anywhere brewing system then you need to have a look &

Thanked: 4206Substance, very nice little camp kit your friends created.
Manual process, but would be kick azz at the fishing camp in the mornings..
Thanks for sharing, might need to support my habit a bit more.

Interesting methodology and process. Hard packed, high pressure and long exposure to the hot water makes for some potent espresso. I would like to try a espresso from this machine.

Thanked: 30Kalita pour overs
After having lived in Japan, I've been a huge fan of pour overs. I have a Kalita Wave, Hario mill (ceramic burr hand grinder), and a pocket scale for precision.
I love the ritual of pour over coffee. I love how the stripped down simplicity of my tools reliably makes great coffee and easy cleaning. I don't want to imagine the hygiene and flavor of coffee of all the automatic coffee pots out there that have never been cleaned. And I love how I could easily pack all my equipment with me in a tiny bag and still enjoy great coffee outdoors or on the road.
The manual, old-fashioned ways of doing things often appeal to me because they're the ways that are the most reliable and provide the best performance. I use quality notebooks, pens, and pencils because their harddrives won't crash and the tactile sensation of writing by hand will always top staring at a glowing screen. My Kalita Wave can work indefinitely without having to be plugged into life support, i.e. an electrical outlet. And a dinky throwaway razor will never give the joy of a straight razor shave. I imagine many of you feel the same.

Came home to a pressie from the wife. The grinder I got in the kit goes from fine to coarse in 25 steps and wasn't performing well. It has various issues but the main one was mods necessary to get decent grinds and not consistent. Had told the wife about this one but definitely wasn't expecting to get it for a while. Very happy with it and much better results.

It's the smart grinder pro (bcg820). They both have 60 settings though so probably the same in that regard. The difference in the coffee was noticeable immediately. Far better than the Sunbeam one with taste and consistency greatly improved. All I have used it for so far is espresso

Grinder are little bit mess when you use it everyday. I got myself Whirlpool ACE 102/IXL and it is amazing. Pleased me many times with outstanding coffee. My family is more at my house too because they love coffee from this maker. I had many coffee/espresso mochines in the past (including high end Jura) but this one is far superior to others.
