So today I brought a hand grinder for my beans. A zassenhaus. Was a choice of 2 zassenhaus and one de ve but this one had no wobble in the bearings and the finish in the hopper was the best. Pulled it apart when I got home and fully cleaned it. Put a small touch of silicone non tox grease in the bottom bearing and 1 drop of oil in the top bearing. Spend a little time centering the bottom bracket so when grinding its all even. Grinds perfectly from powder to coarse and runs smooth as. Now I just need to get some good beans to feed it. Here's a pic for you.

Been drinking French Press coffee for a long time and current coffee is Lavazza which just works great and has great crema even though it is pre-ground/vac'd.

    Been using this:

    http://www.amazon.com/DeLonghi-EC155.../dp/B000F49XXG

Espresso Maker and it does really well for the not-too serious approach to coffee/espresso.

Lately I've started drinking coffee with just a bit of real butter and I was really surprised... Salty taste from the butter plays with the nuttiness of the beans and the cream in the butter works similar to regular cream though the oil does slick/float on top. Best added ingredient I've found in a while for French Press Coffee.

I really like the dark, rich flavor of black coffee and sugar in/with coffee just takes the flavor in all the wrong directions. Definitely going to have to check into roasting my own beans and Pour-Overs.

Check out the bulletproof coffee regimen if you like the flavor of butter in your brew.
The two go hand in hand and are a good change up now and then. There's a whole health plan that goes with it which I didn't take to seriously but it is a good change up.

I literally gag if I taste coffee with sugar in it...I usually prefer black but will have just a drop or two of cream sometimes.

I've always wanted to try the butter thing, and thank to MikeB52's post above, think I'll give it a try...

I LOVE (as in REALLY LOVE) my coffee. I have friends in Vietnam who send me a regular care package that keeps me stocked with my favorite brew. IMHO some of the best coffee in the world comes from Đắk Lắk Province, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.

My son swears by the full on bulletproof routine when he's training for tuff mudder in the spring. We buy it all from onit Cept the butter. Can get that local.
Definitely an energy as well as overall boost feeling while on the program.
Good luck phrank, let us know your thoughts.

Nice hand grinder! I just ordered my first hand grinder, a Lido E-T from Orphan Espresso. I've heard nothing but rave reviews for this great travel grinder which uses a Swiss conical burr-set. (at this point, all machine-heads / gadget geeks are free to "ooooh" and "aaaah"

Lido E-T + Aeropress makes me want to sell my $10,000 Speedster. I am making damn fine coffee for less than I paid for my first "espresso" machine, the Krups something-or-other!

    WOW!

I sure ain't no expert , never having a espresso maker, but I got an aero press and my coffee is a whole lot better than it was , if a 10 k machine makes it that much better, I,ll have to try it, but all in all I think the areopress makes a real mean 4 shot cup! Tc

I used an aeropress for years before getting a real espresso machine. The aeropress can't make real espresso, but makes really great coffee. I wouldn't call it better, just different. I still use the aeropress from time to time especially if I want iced coffee.
