You'll see, but you will get a million answers to this.
And mine is: Speick, or Speick Active. Both mid grade, but excellent ASLs!Recovered Razor Addict

Well, I like some alcohol, even on my face, and for an everyday aftershave I use either Proraso green, Floid (looks orange, not sure it's official name) or Old Spice.

I haven't used all too many aftershaves yet, but my favorite so far is Captain's Choice aftershaves, particularly their sandalwood aftershave. I don't know if it meets your price range, but you can get it for ~$18 on amazon.

Thanked: 2+1 for Captain's Choice. I get the refreshing alcohol jolt I like, but when that evaporates it leaves my face feeling smooth and properly moistened for the rest of the day. If you check out the ingredient list you'll see that it's very short. I like that too. I've got the Sandalwood and the Bay Rum and like them both.

I like stuff that is not too strong and goes away. Aqua-Velva and mostly, green Proraso. Like the Proraso a lot. Just me.
I also like the Mennen Afta balms. They fade-out and dry fairly quickly. The green is my fave.
The blue is a lot like AQV. Has the 'Burn' that does not last long. Sometimes we need that, however!
Wish I could find something similar without buying something to try, and wind up giving it away.Last edited by sharptonn; 04-09-2016 at 01:00 AM.

Thanked: 1I use Lustray Blue Spice. A barber friend (a GREAT source of info for razors, hones, & technique) gave me a whole 14 oz. bottle.

I have really liked Proraso green, I believe the one I purchased is an AS "milk". I have balms as well but this milk does seem to dry a bit differently and if I remember right it was not pricey and it has a bit of menthol scent. My son and wife say I smell like an old man but I enjoy the scent. I have also purchased Nivea post shave balm at wal mart and I guess I can not say if it has alcohol or not but again pleasing scent and it seems to dry nicely compared to the other balm I have. Good luck sir

Aqua Velva Ice Blue, Mennen Skin Bracer, Old Spice Original, and Brut Original (from EU w/ glass bottle) are all favorites of mine.

I just got an alum block for myself and it seems to work very well.
Just get the end wet and apply it as you would stick deodorant.
(My alum block says that it also works as a deodorant, but they suggest using different blocks for aftershave and deodorant.)
I got a Shavex 125 g block which comes in a plastic box that will protect the block from moisture and is handy for traveling.
Since I haven't drawn any blood yet, I don't know whether the alum block will work better than a styptic pencil (I have one of these sitting around too) or not.Last edited by howdydave; 06-27-2016 at 05:01 PM.
