Thanked: 44Witch Hazel
Witch hazel has no alchohol-like burning or menthol-like cooling sensations. It just closes the pores
Witch hazel is also not particularily moisturizing, so I use the skin food after the Witch hazel - especially in the winter. (Poor man's version of skin food = Corn Huskers lotion).
ps: Both Witch Hazel & Corn Huskers lotion are available at my local Walmart).

Thanked: 443I just pour some into my hands and rub it on.
Got a bottle of the alcohol-free cucumber-flavored Thayers and splashed some on tonight for kicks. Feels nice, cool. Makes me smell like a tiny little buffet sandwich."These aren't the droids you're looking for." "These aren't the droids we're looking for." "He can go about his business." "You can go about your business."

witch hazel wipes
From the Witch hazel Wipes Thread
I picked up a plastic canister of 70% alcohol wipes from the local pharmacy ($1.50 on sale 40ct). I removed the top and the roll of wipes and let them sit out (in a safe place) for a couple of days. Once dry I put the roll back in the canister and added about 1/2 of a bottle of Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel. Put the cap on gave it a shake and let it sit over night.
The wipes are great and very convenient.

Just made my first AS from witch hazel today and tried it after my shave. I never used anything non-alcohol based before, minus the one time I tried witch hazel out of the bottle. That did nothing for me, and I did not expect much from my attempt today. I must say I really am pleasantly surprised tho, it certainly goes into my to-keep list.

Thanked: 8They have a sample pack for $16.99 which seems like a good deal. Then when I checked out I realized they charge $21.75 for shipping. Sigh I guess I'll have to pass.
Thayers Witch Hazel Sampler Package - $16.95 : Thayers Natural Remedies, Since 1847
Do you guys know where in Seattle or Bellingham I can find Lemon Thayers please? Thank you.
