The Thayer's with fragrance, Lavander, Rose, Lemon, are awesome...When I used the regular witch hazel, my gf hated it, She'd say, Ewwww, what's that smell on your face....Now, it's, Wow, Lemon...Nice.....

    Enjoy!
This is just my routine, however, since I shave both my head and face, I finish up by a cold water rinse, then I take two ice cubes and palm them and run them over my entire head and face until they are gone.

After a quick towel 'pat' dry, I finish up with With Hazel, then a course of Aloe Vera, then Lubriderm.

The most important thing I want to pass on is the use of cold water and ice cubes to shrink the pores. Put an AS like With Hazel on after all of that and you have a perfectly smooth head/face.

    YMMV,

using witch hazel as an astringent and cleanser.. don't you want your pores to be open still?

I love bay rum. All by itself, or with other scents mixed in too.

I'll take a small container. I use test tubes with screw tops for small batch, or little amber bottles with corks, that I got from Amazon, for proven scents. 1/8 to 1/4 fill with alcohol or Gabels Bay Rum, add some drops of Bay Oil (Pimenta Racemosa), shake to mix, top off with Thayer's, shake to mix again.

Wow! That's a new one. Is that to help the astringent effect?

I am currently using Trumper's skin food and a sandalwood aftershave (Taylor). I have quite sensitive skin, but I am thinking about ordering Lemon Witch Hazel and Dominica Bay Rum. Should I still use the skin food, or the hazel enough? Also: does the witch hazel feel cooling? I dislike menthol-like cooling on my skin.
