Witch Hazel
So, I decided to try witch hazel with my post shave. I bought the cheap drugstore brand. GROSS!!! It smelled like old gym socks and sauerkraut. SO I went and got another brand...Dickenson's. The smell alone was 10 times worse than before. I saw lots of people on here use Thayers so I decided to give it a try. I got online and found they had a variety of scents.(Takes me forever to pick something like that) I decided on lemon.(ok..truthfully eeny meeny miney mo decided on lemon) Success! It smells like lemons. I am pleased.
*edit* Yes I am 30 and let eeny meeny miney mo make all of my important life decisions

Hello, bondpunk: Yes, witch hazel works wonders after the shave. I have used a variety of Thayer's witch hazel selections. Thayer's Medicated Super Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera, for me, is tops. It has no fragrance that I can detect and, therefore, it will not interfere with your aftershave. Here is a link for you:

With hazel is an acquired scent like a fine wine-har har. it's something you either like or hate.
The store brands are very watered down.
I'm a big fan of thayers. I order directly from them and usually keep a stock of the medicated and plain aloe on hand at all times. The medicated has a very strong scent just not typical witch hazel. More a Peppermint-clove I guess. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

How do you guys use the WH? Do you use a cotton ball/pad and wipe it on your face, or splash it on like aftershave? I normally do the aftershave splash, but I also have Ogallala so I sometimes skip it entirely since OBR has WH in it already.

I really like the Thayers with aloe and cucumbers. It's a delicate scent and disappears by the time it dries. Sometimes I splash but I usually just keep a small jar full of cotton balls/pads and put enough on it to keep it moist. Then I give a quick rub down.

I have the Thayers lavender which has a nice soothing scent. I also have regular witch hazel with eucalyptus oil added in to mask the natural scent of the pharmacy stuff. I splash mine on like AS.
