Thanked: 0The girlfriend has requested a "private" shave from my straightrazor
My girlfriend, for reasons I have yet to figure out, has become obsessed with my straightrazor shaving routine, and has requested that I shave her...well, private parts. I would've posted this in the "ladies only" section, but hey, it's "ladies only". Anyways, it's no secret that the soft skin of a ladies' pubic region is much softer and sensitive than almost all of our faces. With that being said, it's not the razor I'm worried about, but rather the lather. I'm thinking an uberlather would suffice in keeping the region nice and moisturized, but I want to take all precautions in her not having razor burn or any other form of irritation. I have heard of the benefits of shea butter in preventing razor burn. Should I try mixing some with my uberlather? Any other tips that could possibly be offered?

Hmm...not sure how to comment on this mate . Perhaps a DE razor would be safer to start with ? Using a straight razor, seems a bit extreme .
Good luck and happy ..............ahhh shaving !
Cheers,
Scott

Thanked: 334Having gotten "the shave" as a rookie in training camp many moons ago, I have one word to say: DON'T!! If she wants to feel the breeze between her legs, buy her a motorcycle. If she insists, start w/an electric then go to a DE.

FWIW, I shave my wife's legs with my straight, and it is plenty of enough excitement for the both of us-- so, I would suggest starting there.
If you decide to move forward, a high resolution photo of grain direction and growth patterns will help us dtermine the best angle of attack

Thanked: 1587I'm not sure how you ride a motorcycle, but I am pretty sure you are doing it wrong
I'll reiterate what others have said: try other places first. Legs for example, or armpits. I would not make one of the most intimate and sensitive areas of the human anatomy the first place I attempted to shave someone else! Or else I would shave the mons pubis with a straight and leave the areas adjacent to the labia majora for something smaller and less cut-prone like a disposable.

As others have said, start with the legs. Women have far more curves and angles and you, umm, need to work your way up. if you shave her legs she will then be able to decide if you should continue.
uberlather is the way to go ... but the first time you might want to use a razor she is already comfortable for the bikini area, a cartridge or a de... trust me a slip or a nick in that area might mean you have to find a new place to live.
