Cremo Shave Creme as Preshave
Well, I have tried most of the commercial pre shave products and have made many of my own using almond oil, grape seed, sesame seed, jojoba etc. However while once looking around at the shaving products in Walgreens looking for shaving soap, I came across a product called " Cremo" . It claimed to be slicker than any other product and that it was a product that did not produce a large lather. I thought this may be perfect for a pre shave.
I have found it to be very good as a pre shave product and use it daily. I apply a small amount from the tube and wet it with warm water, then make my usual lather and apply it over the Cremo. I find a great deal of difference with using this product. It's relatively inexpensive for a large tube is 7.95.
Hope this may be of some help to someone looking for something different to try. I have really enjoyed it.

I've seen it at CVS and often thought of giving it a try as a pre shave...perhaps now i will have to finally go for it....do you find your normal soap or cream lathers normally on top of the Creamo?

I've used creamo- it's interesting stuff. It is, as claimed and IMO the slickest product I have ever tried. I do find as a pre shave it does interfere with the soap or cream your applying over it.....
It is very 'chemically' lol- there is nothing real about it... I would say as far as getting a super close shave goes creamo is great stuff, however for me it detracts from the luxury shave experience which I enjoy so much- for this reason I did not repurchase it when I finished the tube.
If you love your cream, using as a pre shave will not necessarily make it any better IMO. Of course ymmv.......... Making Old Razors Shine N' Shave, Once Again.

Interesting Joel. I've used the stuff as the shaving cream with shaving soap to make superlather and it worked great. It did not kill the lather at all but it did add a lovely orange smell to the lather and a bit more "slick". We all have different "noses" I guess, because I think the smell is like oranges and not at all like chemical.
Nothing is as it ever was.

Not so much the smell that is off to me, it's smells fresh- the product overall just feels and looks artificial, which is fine.... but not for me
I did feel that adding it in to a n über lather detracted from the texture of the lather made- I do agree on all accounts that the stuff is slick as could be though.
It's not a bad product at all.. I would even recommend it to non wets shavers as a good alternative to barbasol..... you find it to be a good additive or supplement to traditional products; and I say if it works for you that's great- for me I didn't feel it made it any better or worse when combining with other products.... but hey, to each his own- if it work for you and even I others then it's good stuff as far as I'm concerned.......... I use Cremo, glycerine and shave soap to create an uberlather occasionally. Its pretty awesome.
Are they still offering the 100% rebate??
I bought that and the facewash. Great products, good price even without tht refund. I commented on it some months ago...(October??)

Agree that Creamo is better as pre-shave than to use alone.
By itself, it is very hard to find the middle ground between too wet vs too dry - and it seems to disappear from one side of my face while I am shaving the other.
Kiss-My-Face makes a better lather and is borderline passable for shaving, but there are so many things that are better. My father was an engineer. He used to tell me that sharpening a straight razor is like trying to build a ladder to the moon out of a roll of aluminum foil.
