I too am a new str8 shaver who started using Proraso pre/post in the white container. I am starting to get very close and comfortable shaves every day. I think it is a combination of the Proraso, me building better lathers, and me getting experience with the razor. In any case I am very happy with the results I am getting, so I am not going to change anything for awhile. I also enjoy the menthol in the Proraso.

Yes, a necropost in praise of Proraso pre shave, which is fitting considering that I had stopped using this product around 5 years ago or so.

I recently found a tub of the stuff lying around, and I forgot how effective this product is, especially for tough wiry beards. My shaves are more confortable and I am less OCD about how sharp my razor is when I use this stuff.

I only use the Proraso preshave if I shave without showering first, and it works really well. I recently ran out, and thought I'd try something different, since there were lots of sales at the time. I picked up some DR Harris and Baum.be preshave products - I like them both, but when comparing the performance vs price with the Proraso, the Proraso wins hands down (in my opinion, of course).

It’s been said before but to refresh. No ens is the same thing yet costs 10 times less.

This is very interesting, because in my limited experience the Proraso white line and red line are the only products I have used, so I was curious about the well renowned British products. In my opinion the red pre/post shave are perfect in fresh climate because of the warm sandal scent while I think the white with its freshness is perfect with higher temperature. I don't know the prices overseas but here you can buy it at the super market or on the web with just a few bucks.

Living in Italy you should have easy access to Saponifico Varesima.

They make great products including soaps, aftershaves and brushes.

Yes I've heard a lot about their soaps, made in the old manner, and sooner or later I'll try them, but as you know with the money you spend for 1 SV soap you can buy 15 Proraso At the moment I'm saving for my "fabulous seven" razors
