The Noxzema in a can works well but don't tell my wife. I wouldn't have an excuse to purchase those silver tip badger brushes.

Thanked: 8The classic Noxema in the blue tub works for me, but I like the Porsano white pre-shave too.

Thanked: 129OK a week in and I decided to give Noxzema a full trial as a pre shave, for the last 7 days still not keen on the scent but I have to say it works really well for me. Skin feels great and it definitely improves the glide on the blade. I tried with my DE this morning just for a change, great shave and it seems to preserve moisture in the skin.
So in summary, I still prefer the scent of Proraso, but I'm starting to think Noxzema performs better. Think I'll use Noxzema pre-shave and Proraso post shave, best of both worlds.One of the greatest gifts is to impart wisdom through experience.

Thanked: 23I bought the Nivea about a week ago and I do like it. It makes my skin feel real good. But the box of Neutrogena post shave lotion sitting right beside it at Wal Mart I like more as a post shave. I've been using the Neutrogena for a few months. I was looking for the Neutrogena and saw the Nivea. I got the Nivea to try it. It is real nice but I think the Neutrogena is better for me. When I was in the Air Force I was in Alaska and several of us had really bad problems with the skin on our hands cracking. We all tried every product available. We were on a 2x4 mile island so there weren't many products. Anyway the Neutrogena lotion we had was the ONLY thing that worked at all and it worked so well I've never forgotten the name. In my mind Neutrogena products are exceptional. From the limited number of products I've tried for shaving it's good for that also.

After reading this thread, I purchased a huge $4 tub of Noxzema Classic Clean Moisturizing Cleansing Cream. I used it as a pre-shave for the first time yesterday on a 7-day growth beard. Loved it. Best thing I've done to improve my shave. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

sorry for a stupid question but I am easily confused today....
You are using the Noxzema as pre-shave cream and rub/massage into the skin. Then you apply your shave cream over the Noxzema (like you would for any other pre-shave). After applying the shave cream, over the Noxzema that has been massaged into your face, you then shave your face like normal???
I know this sounds stupid and OCD but I am having a moment. Sorry.

@Tom475
Some Noxema users leave the cream on the face and lather over the cream.
I rinse the Noxema off with water and then lather and shave normally.
So, you can do what works best for you.
I rinse before lathering because I did not like getting the Noxema off the blade. It is a bit sticky.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.
