Thanked: 60Has anyone else tried Green Mountain Soap Company Soap?
Must barbers did not build lather on the face for customer service reasons. You would not want wet sloppy lather getting all over a customers clothing or getting their collar damp or wet

Thanked: 3226Any barber I have been to for just a hair cut draped a cape around you and tucked it over the neck opening of your clothing. They did the same for a shave but added a paper like material around your neck over the cape which was tucked over your clothes. Not too much danger of getting a customers clothes covered in lather or collar damp. They did that routine even when using a hot lather machine and applying the lather with their hands.

Thanked: 14I've got all the GMs except the lavender in my rotation. I live on the next mtn over and get them at the feed store that is in the shade of the actual green mountain.
Before I shower i cover the puck with hot water - and do the same with my brush and mug. Then I pour out the water and whip up some base lather on the puck and let it out into my mug. Then its the fastest of all my soaps to whip up a huge lather. If you like a loud smell- this ain't it. The scents are all very subtle, but good. In my water they all make a smooth glide and don't dry out.

Thanked: 1Picked mine up at the Greene Street Farmers Mkt in H'ville. Understand that they're now carrying it at Madison Drugs in Providence. I'll probably get it there in the future since it's much closer and they keep regular hours. Can I ask how long a puck lasts (this is my first)?

After using them for months I can't see them getting any smaller. I'm keeping them in the Rubbermaid takealongs screw top- perfect fit.

This soap craves water IMO. Soak it while in the shower.

Wow, that is a bit of a surprise. It is one of the better soaps out there, in my opinion. It is right up there with Meißner Tremonia, Castle Forbes and Baume.be. But then again I relegated Mitchell's Wool Fat to the shower, as its protection and after care are sub-par (as in: pretty bad) for me, and a lot of people praise that most highly. Apart from my dashing good looks I am blessed with quite soft water, as well.
As said, it needs a bit of softening up and quite a bit of water, but the glide is spot on, it doesn't dry out and leaves my face feeling moisturised. It is one of those products that, on most days, do not require me to use an aftershave balm and my skin is prone to drying out.
But indeed, we are all our own very particular walking chemistry lab.
