Don't act so high-minded; you're not that clever, so don't take yourself or your assumptions seriously, like your assumption that I put down Green Mountain soap. Go read my reply AGAIN, if you did the first time. I think you skipped through it. Here is one quote from me:"I am not putting down the higher end stuff." "I'll try this Green Mountain stuff out and see how it does." Are you a woman or a man? I've already asked you that. Hot lather has been used to great effect with all kinds of straight razors by barbers and home users for over a century. I stick with what worked for them and for me. I'm through with this thread.

Thanked: 1Wildman1, I have to ask. How many shaves do you get out of each can? I paid something like $10 for my puck of GMS and it looks like it's going to last for somewhere around 6 months of daily use. 3 months in and it's less than half gone.

Thank you for asking. I think that really is a very important question. It is also a very personal one. I do not usually share that particular piece of information, but I am in fact Lynn's 16 year old niece.
You will be sorely missed. Goodbye.

Thanked: 0Though I don't typically hang out on the forums these days, a friend told me that y'all were discussing Mom and Dad's soap, so I figured I would show up and hang out for a while.
Full disclosure: I just said I'm the son of the people who make Green Mountain Soap.
So, asking me for my opinions about the shave soap (or, frankly, berating me because you don't like it) is not going to really create credibly objective new information for most of you. I will pass along comments that do contain useful information to Mom and Dad, though -- they are proud of the shave soap and the business is growing, at least in part, because of the good reputation of the shave soap.
So, howdy and good morning.

Thanked: 0My Mom and Dad make Green Mountain Soap.
I occasionally build custom industrial equipment for them.
I also play with satellites and radios.

Gentlemen,
This thread is starting to go in 37 different direction, and all the back and forth is also getting to be tedious. I think we have reached the point of respecting the different opinions and preferences for the soaps and creams in question and moving on.

I enjoy GMS alot.!!!
Great glide and cushion.
No irritation, not that i have sensitive skin.
No drying of the skin, that I've found with others.
If I had to rate it with the formentioned soaps i use, it would be .
#1. GMS
#2 VDH
#3 WMS + 1 OZ. GLYCERIN
GRATED - PRESSED IN BOWL
I prefer the lower end soaps, finding GMS is a definate plus.
And the scents are great.
Ive been working on a puck of spiced rum for some time, about 5 months (shave everyother day )
and theres still alot of product left.
Ive used a whole puck and part of another of VDH LUXERY, and 3/4 puck of Williams Mug.
So to look at total comparison, all having good cushion and glide.
The absolute winner would be.....
GMS.
once you learn how to lather with it. Its the thirstyest soap I've encountered. I prefer to soak it while in the shower.
It really is a great soap for the money.
To Wildman1, no knockin your choice brother of blades.
Just saying, you and your face deserve better than goo in a can.
Trust me brother, I used goo for years. Since i went to soaps and the difference it has made to my shaves and skin...... !!
" PHOOEY TO THE GOO...!!"Mike

As stated previously in a reply to one of the many rambling private messages you sent me, you really should consider reducing your intake of moonshine.
An important piece of information for those who might find WILDMAN1's behaviour in this thread (and, quite possibly, elsewhere) slightly erratic, he is currently on his "PERIOD" (also from a private message). Which seems a bit strange, but might explain his sudden interest in the sex of other participants in this discussion.
While we are at it, and to save myself the bother of replying to yet another rambling private message, I have since looked up "GFY" in a dictionary (that would be the empty slot between "Jesus loves you. Everyone else thinks you're a rather annoying person." and "Sheep Worship in Ancient Egypt. A Self Help Guide." in WILDMAN1's bookshelf), and I think that is not a very nice thing to say. While I generally agree that certain people should love themselves more (even if only because, eg in WILDMAN1's case, nobody else does), "cussing" as you put it is not very nice.
Could we possibly get back to discussing the products pertinent to this thread now, please? And could a moderator possibly clean it up with a large, sharp object? Thanks!
Have a great weekend,
Robin
PS I lied. I am not Lynn's niece. Lying is also bad, and I promise not to do it again.
