I always shave before showering.
The reason?
I will normally have stopped bleeding by the time the shower is finished so I don't have a disaster with my work shirt!

Thanked: 0Noob routine
I am a noob of just two weeks and have tried several routines but this is the one I feel works for me best so far.
I shower twice, my main shower is in the evening to get rid of the grime of the day....in the morning I just rinse off under a hot shower and the only bits I wash are my face neck and ears, takes roughly the same time as a morning wash, pre-shave massaged in and left, while I eat my cereal, to soften up the beard, lather up and leave to work while I put the coffee machine on. While the coffee is getting ready I shave, post shave cream rubbed in and ready for coffee. The whole process takes 20 to 25 minutes. I have two razors in use at any given time because I have been told it is better to let the facet rest for at least 24 hours so the rested razor gets stropped in the evening ready for the next mornings shave. I need lots of time and care for this being a noob so the evening is more convenient. Any thoughts?

I have always shaved and then showered and have never had a problem with that order. Just a little extra pre shave prep and as stated the shower afterwards seems to close any nicks quite well by the time I'm done showering. YMMV

Thanked: 4I started out shaving before my showers. Then I got a mirror in my shower so I shave during my shower.
I should have my first straight by weeks end. I'll probably go back to shaving before my shower. I don't want to lose anything important, you know, like a toe....
