    Marble does seem to hold heat longer than regular porcelain. Have you tried a scuttle? That is probably what you are looking for.

    For lack of better terminology, I used the "hot bowl" title for this application based on a you tube video I watched.

    What I find works well is to submerge it into a sink of hot water then shower. Once out of the shower she's ready to go. I've tried filling it with boiling water from the stove but that's far too hot, the lather dries out and gets cooked.

    i haven't tried a scuttle
    this thing is crazy though, it holds so much heat that in my cold house (67-69 degrees) steam bellows from it. It actually really dries the lather out when your not paying attention.
