After reading this thread I had to go buy some Proraso. I'm not a huge fan of the eucalyptus smell, but it's got a little bit of kick to it. Feels great!

proraso really is great stuff, even compared to more expensive soaps and creams. the $10 tube will last upwards of a year if you don't go overboard using it. the menthol in it gives your face a nice cool feeling after your shave. definitely recommended to anyone looking for a great cream to make a thick, rich lather on a budget.

As mentioned Proraso is definetly a go to shave cream, I love the small tub as it is good in rotation and great for travelling. If you want to try something else (all you guys in Canada especially!) have a look at Benton Clay. It is very easy to lather like the Proraso; won't break the bank; and is the true definition of "rich creamy lather".

Not a fan of menthol either, but here's a trick:

I have two soaps - Williams (the only thing available at the moment) and a big tube of Bigelow (Proraso for all intents and purposes). I load my brush with the Williams, then add a small pea sized offering of the Bigelow with a few drops of water in the clean cup.

    Not too shabby!

The Bigelow adds some staying power to the Williams along with the slightest hint of it's menthol and overall the blending of the two base scents are pleasing, so I guess it's a 'poor mans uber'.
