Zip, I guess I'm just lucky, I love the veg, as long as it's out of a glass bottle [emoji3]

    Aloha!

I don't mind it. It's just a tad strong out of the bottle for me, and if I apply it uncut, it lasts too long. Right overnight and into the next day. I guess this is good if you want a fragrance with marathon legs. I believe I read that this was their original fragrance (before the classic Clubman) and it was intended for the soldier's use in Nepolian's army to cover "field smell". That it sure would do.

But either way, the Lilac Veg is an absolute classic - straight or barber-tricked. It will be my fragrance NEXT Friday. This Friday I'm going with the original Classic.

    Aloha Gents.
Happy Clubman Friday 2 1/2 hours in advance.

I have my fragrance set out for tomorrow. Definitely going with Original Classic.

Just thought I'd share a failed experiement. I thought myself smart by putting the Clubman talc in a wooden shaving bowl with cover (see pic). I bought myself a large neck duster to apply it. Sounds like a good idea right? Dab the duster in the bowl and then dust your neck or body with the large powder duster for that barber-shop finish.

Problem is the mess it creates. When you dab that big duster in a bowl of powder it gets everywhere on the way to the neck while it pushes some powder out of the bowl and onto the sink or counter or floor. No matter how hard you try and feather-touch it, you create a mess. You are better off just shaking a little on the duster directly right from the bottle. Lesson learned, but it was a good thought while it lasted.

Wooden bowl now re-assigned to shaving soap. Powder back in the bottle.

    -Zip

    et voila;

Good evening gents, Clubman Friday is here and I'm going with Lilac Vegetal.
Fun fact: Edouard Pinaud formulated the veg in 1853 for the Hungarian Hussars.
Legend has it that people who knock the Veg have their sleep disturbed by
the ghosts of hundreds of rampaging horsemen...sleep well and have a great weekend !!

Well, that shoots what I read about it being created for Napoleon's soldier's right out the window. Napoleon died in 1821, so it was certainly not requisitioned for "Napoleon's" soldiers directly under Napoleon's command.....unless the author of what I read just connected the Hussars to Napoleon because he used Hussars in his cavalry during his wars. Good trivia. And it makes sense. Now you not only need a fragrance to cover field battle-scent but horse scent as well.

Friday has come around again and I'm choosing the Private Reserve to spice it up. Enjoy your weekend.

Not having to go out in public today so I broke out the high octane Private Reserve.

Last time I went in public wearing Private Reserve I was arrested for inciting a riot. Think Elvis and the young ladies at this concerts.

I told the judge that the we lasses couldn't help themselves, but he wouldn't hear it.

That's why I wore The Veg today. I hate dreams with rampaging horsemen in them!
