Thanked: 1587I use Armani Mania EDT. It also comes in an aftershave balm or aftershave lotion. I've used the balm - slightly less fragrance, but pretty soothing.

You guys can keep all that sissy fru-fru designer junk you apply in a feeble attempt to attract the opposite sex. Just give me old spice any day. Its the best stuff in the world. Its the stuff Capt. Jack Sparrow wears! And if its good enough for him its good enough for me.

Thanked: 1587But look what happened to cap'n Jack - lost in the belly of a Krakken! And who says our attempts to attract females are feeble? Personally, I'm having to chase them away ...
Actually, I quite like Old Spice too.

May I suggest Buffalo by Jaegerhund ---- It has a nice musky freshly killed smell that drives the babes crazy. It comes in mangy , extra mangy or for the bold, buffalo diablo. You can find it at your local tanneries, etc. Give it a go and you'll never be the same again. You might want to also try out Muskrat and Nutria.

The best "modern" scents that I enjoy are:
Trumpers GFT
Truefitt & Hill Grafton
Besides those, I prefer smelling like an old (27 yr old) guy

Thanked: 150I am lucky, my wife likes the cheap stuff. She likes Adidas aftershave from the grocery store, and the neutrogena aftershave lotion, but the one fracy "new" scent that she goes crazy for is Drakkar Noir. She loves it, and I love that she loves it. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more, say no more!!

Thanked: 0Hi,
Personally I have taken a liking to Acqua di Parma's products - the Colonia series was first made somewhere around the 1930's, so it definitely doesn't qualify as "modern designer" stuff.
It is, however, back in style, and significantly fresher than, say, Old Spice and such.
The brand has some emphasis on shaving-products, and the Colonia series offers a lot of nice stuff. Also, check out the brush - really nice design!

Thanked: 0Well - thanks for all the tips. In the end I bought some Trumpers "Skye" which is going down very well with the girlfriend, though I have also bought some Balderrassini Ambre too. Which is her favorite.
Out of interest I have noticed that their is little difference in the ingredients from the designer aftershaves to the trumpers (which are designer prices) or the cheapies. I guess they all have the same stuff in them, ye jus picks yer smell, and goes with it...

Acqua di parma is nice but a lil soapy I find. Have a bottle atm.
My personal Favs are -
Jo Malone - Lime Madarin and Basil Cologne
and
Creed - Neroli Sauvage - eau d parfum
You're best to stay away from the EDT's as they dont last long enough plus you gotta spray too much to get a decent day out of it. The parfums stay on all day long with a tiny hint even the next morning (if u dont shower the night before lol)
The chicks love the Creed. ;-)Last edited by poona; 05-25-2007 at 10:28 PM.
