NOS Penhaligons Colognes
Wellllll, maybe not NOS as such, but they are reissuing 12 of the scents from their past collections which were discontinued. The first four are listed in the advert below. Would be great if anyone tries these and perhaps do a write up in the Review section!

I may go to NYC next week and I'll stop by their boutique to check them out.
What about Lahndon - you don't want to try them?

Well, I tried all four (and yes, two are female scents, although the sales assistant insisted that they were all unisex ). I won't put them in a review section because these are just first thoughts from trying the testers (release has been pushed back to 6 July). If I end up buying a bottle I'll post a review in the Review section.
Limes (1963) -- I'm not a fan of Limes as a cologne. However, this one was interesting. At first, it was just too sweet... it was such a powerful zing of limes with a sweet aftertaste. I couldn't help thinking green tictacs. But within an hour it had dried down to something quite different (no, not mangoes, not THAT different!). The sweetness was gone and what was left was a limes scent which was quite spicy. This was like a REAL man's lime scent. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I had to travel back on a bus in 35 deg C and was starting to perspire -- it is HOT in Lahndon today!
Verveine (1949) -- this is definitely worth a try. Quite a lot of citrus (fresh) but very herb-y to go with it. I didn't get to try it properly but left with a tester so will give it a go another day. Definitely a man's scent.
Gardenia (1976) -- a woman's scent, but if you're brave I can see a bloke wearing this in the evening maybe. It's not sweet and doesn't have that sickly floral smell. It's actually pretty good, but I don't know if I have the cajones to wear this... or I should say the LACK of cajones.
Night Scented Stock (1976) -- a woman's scent, but by this stage my olfactory nerves were so fragged from all the different scents that I couldn't really tell you what it's like.

interesting, thanks for taking one, i mean four for the team, mark.
I can just visualize the smell on that bus - expensive perfume mixed with body chemistry
Anybody else want to take another one wit the night scented stock? I'll hit you with all my positive rep power

I'm game, where is the best place to locate this stuff in NYC? I checked the website and it says that the boutique is coming soon. Is it there yet? Not sure if Pastuer's or Cambridge would have this yet as it's new.

Sak's? The only reason Issac that I am curious is that I recently visited Sak's in Atlanta and they mentioned that they stopped carrying the line several years ago. Now, that being said I have much more faith in you than the folks working there as they tried to tell me the Creed SS had tallow in it, which it does not from what I can tell. If they do, terrific, I'm there!
Oh and gugi, If I bring back a report I want some rep points!
Joe
