Thanked: 143The "Thai Crystal" product is the right stuff (Potassium Alum). This is what it looks like (Amazon image):
Comes in other forms but this one is nice because the plastic base makes a nice handle.
I stand it on its head when not in use so any water in the base will drain out.
I also use it for its intended purpose as a deodorant. Should last about a year.

That is some good info. I wanna try an Alum block but I dont think ill be using it on my face AND pits. Some times I reapply in the middle of the day... I mean I consider myself a funky dude but I don't want to smell like it!

Thanked: 2You won't. Just rinse it with cold water after every use. But even if you get it specifically for shaving, it is still a better deal than alum block, and more convenient for travel, etc. too.
