Thanked: 20Another vote for Nivea AS Balm... cheap, available everywhere and works well... as well as being unscented... true with most Nivea products.

Thanked: 0I saw some witch hazel on sale while I was at the grocery store so picked some up, couldn't find the nivea though so I will have to keep looking. Did a shave and followed with witch hazel and aqua velva. Looks good now, I will let you know if it holds though tomorrow or gets dry.

balms
I do not have a problem with my face drying out in winter since I live in Florida; but when I use a balm, I grab the Pre de Provence after shave balm. It is a balm concocted with butter and other emollients that give me good protection. Highly recommended.

Thanked: 8Bee keepers can't use things with scent - it gets the girls stirred up, and not in a good way. I use jojoba oil if I think I need moisturizer.

Thanked: 7Speik aftershave balm is good. So is Pro Raso cream, Neutrogena balm and probably a lot of other products. Even Mennen Afta is pretty good. My favorite right now is the Speik product. It's a bit dear. Straight Razor Designs has it a a pretty good price.

Currently, I'm using Founder's Reserve Mandarin & Patchouli post shave gel. It's great if there's not much work for it to do & smells divine.
If i need more, I'll go to Pecksniff's After Shave Balm, to which i've added extra vitamin E oil.
I also use an Elemis post shave mask when the mood takes me. It leaves your face feeling amazing & in no need of anything more.

I shave directly after I shower. So after I shave I clean up the bathroom and my brush, etc. then go get dressed. By the time I come back to the bathroom, my skin is dry. I then apply a VERY small amount of oil free moisturizer from Peter Thomas Roth. I have sensitive skin so I have to be very careful.
