Old Spice is a classic...been around forever and that says it all...also like the Bay Rums, and the Clubman has a nice burn and I think a superior fragrance to some of the more expensive rums, (Dominican, etc), and...it is very inexpensive $7 and change at walgreens.

For the burn tight you describe...I do the alum block after a shave, rise, splash a bit of A.S. and then just a film of Palmers cocoa butter on a finger tip, work it into my hands with a bit of water and then a light facial massage...cover than with another coat of A.S. and I'm good. I have light, slightly sensitive skin...works good for me.

My skin is really only sensitive in the colder months. the bay rum i got was amazing. I couldn't sleep last night and my hair was just long enough to shave so what the hell I said, nothin like a good shave at 2 am. ha ha. the pinaud was amazing, I loved the punch it packed. would have been nice to read that before I tried it though. ha ha. man I wanna test every aftershave, if only money grew on tress and I had a plantation of them!

If you like OS, you might also want to try Tabac a/s in addition to those products already mentioned. Fun stuff.

    Default Old Spice . . .

    Hello, everyone:

I have not used Old Spice probably for more than 30 years. I don't even remember its fragrance. Pinaud's Clubman I still use.

    Regards,
    Obie

I was about to buy some OS the other day but I opened the bottle (in the store) and the scent wasn't what I remember from when I was a kid. I use Nivea AS Balm. I really don't care for a burn. I get enough of that from the styptic.

I've just bought some Trumpers Spanish Leather, which is great, and I know there are other members that use it and enjoy it. Its a really great scent!

I also use some more modern colognes as well, Aqua di Gio, some of the Hugo Boss ones, Gucci, some of the CK ones and some of the Chanel ones. I really like these ones in summer because they tend to be lighter and more citrus-y than the Spanish Leather, which is great in winter.

But the Spanish Leather is my pick of the olde worlde barber shop scents. At the moment anyway..! Once I get more of a chance to go sampling in Trumpers, TOBS and D.R. Harris, that may change..!

EDIT: Oh, and I use Trumpers sandalwood skin food every day on my face where I have shaved. I only use the AS/cologne for the scent. A quick dab on the side of the neck is all I do.
