Just A Thought
Maybe it's just me and I'm weird, but I love the smell of camp fire. I'm not talking about just woodsy scents like sandalwood and D.R. Harris Marlborough, don't get me wrong they smell good, but I'm talking about when you're out camping or having a bonfire and the way your clothes and hair smell the next day. I absolutely love that smell. I don't know why, but that's just my taste...I'm one of those guys that hates the smell of rose anything, but is totally cool with smelling like WD40 all day. I think it would be awesome if there were shave/cologne products that smelled like that. A real man scent y'know! Anybody know where I could find it or anyone up for the challenge of making it?

I would buy that for sure! Especially when my family would have night beach bon fires, the way those clothes smelled afterwords( and for weeks later ), very nostalgic, Alraz needs to make a bomb version of it!

Thanked: 1371This may be useful to any soap makers reading this: http://www.thegoodscentscompany.com/odor/smoky.html
If someone comes up with something, I'd be interested in trying it as well.
I can't be of more help with shaving related products...
But, if you're a tea drinker, be sure to check out Lapsang Souchong. If you like that smell, you will enjoy the tea.Last edited by HNSB; 04-12-2010 at 03:22 AM.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

You should check out grandpa's pine tar soap, if you haven't already. dead ringer for a smoldering camp fire. some don't like it, I do. Never tried shaving with it though, you could be a trailblazer if you do.

You could just use a splash of that abysmal 'liquid smoke' they sell in grocery stores for people to try and imitate flame-broiled food flavor... just as a nice aftershave.

As strange of a request as that may appear, according to Google, you are not the only one looking for that particular scent.
I found this on Google and it appears a cologne/perfume forum person had the same request. I have not researched each cologne they listed to see if it's still being manufactured but this might assist you in your search. Also note, the thread is 5 years-old.
Are there any colognes that smell like campfire sm

@Janivar: For some reason I have a feeling that would burn while shaving...haha I guess that would be pretty manly though haha!
@Bassguy: I actually do use Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap! I love the stuff, but only use it once in a while, it's very astringent and drying. I use it in the winter mostly when I grow out my beard, but I leave the goatee the rest of the year and use it for that.
Thanks Logistics, now at least I know I'm not the only one. I'll check that link out later too.
@Watermark: I've had my eye on buying The Bomb when I get some extra cash, and campfire scented would definitely be even more of a reason for me to hurry up and buy it!
@HNSB: I'm not a big tea drinker, but the girlfriend is so I drink it once in a while. I'll definitely look that up, sounds good to me!
As for the rest the whole liquid smoke thing doesn't sound like to bad of an idea. I guess if we can eat it it's okay to put on our faces right? I don't know how much of an astringent would be, I'd have to use it after some witch hazel or something...

Thanked: 480That liquid smoke tastes just awful. I mean awful. Blech!
makes me not even want to think about putting it on my face.
But maybe my taste buds just bias my nose...
