Thanked: 1185Yeah it does have a bit of a wet paper bag smell to it but the linger time of said smell is next to nothing. If it's any consolation, you don't even smell it once you get used to it. I guess this is the same adaptation that allows people to live next to feed lots. As has been suggested, give it a few seconds to dry down and apply your favorite AS
The older I get, the better I was

OK Guys,
I used the WH this morning and it wasn’t as bad as I expected! After my shave I applied the WH liberally and cleaned up my gear and sink area while I waited for it to dry before using AS. It did feel nice, and seemed to firm my face a bit, but if I didn’t use it I don’t think I would miss it that much. I’m going to keep at it though, to see if it makes a difference long term.
Don’t get me wrong; I still think it stinks, but I’m keeping an open mind about it and trying to pick up on the nuances in its scent that some of you have noted. Actually the stinky part might be good – it did make applying the Clubman more satisfying! But like some of you have posted, te smell does fade quickly, so it’s really not a deal breaker at all. And I do like the idea of adding EO to it, so a trip to GNC is in order to pick up some eucalyptus!
Thanks again to you all for your help!

+1 on the Thayers, I too started using the Wally world witch hazel and hated it. However, a trip to my local H&G foods(health food store in the mall) and i found some Thayers. It was much more expensive, $10 vs $2 at wally world but OMG what a difference. I got the stuff with aloe and it has NO smell at all. I love using it now. If you haven't given Thayers a try you're missing out

Thanked: 1263I for one don't mind the scent of it but I can see how some might find it unpleasant. However its never left alone, I always apply my choice of aftershave after it dries
