Thanked: 20Bay Rum Please
Gentlemen-
I am interested in trying a Bay Rum based splash-on aftershave. Could I please have the opinion of those that have tried more than one brand, and chose one over the others? Please include the reason or reasons for that choice. I am interested in straight Bay Rum or any Bay Rum blend, like Bay Rum and lime, or whatever. Thanks a lot for any and all replies.

You can also find some experiences and opinions in the Reviews Aftershaves section: Aftershaves Lotions/Balms Reviews - Straight Razor Place Reviews
I haven't tried a Bay Rum, but I am also interested.

Thanked: 20jdto-
Thanks for reminding me about the reviews page - that definitly helped.
To add to my original post - After looking around, it seems to me that Ogallala is the only one of the common brands that is witch hazel based whereas the rest are alcohol based. Is this correct? Thayer's Lavender is a part of my normal post shave ritual, and I really like the feel of witch hazel over alcohol. Any thoughts or opinions on this?
thanks again!

Sally's carries a Masters brand Bay Rum. Barber shop quality. Reasonably priced. Write ups have picked it as one of the better one. I've been using it for quite awhile. It's and aftershave, not a cologne.

Thanked: 1195Out of the Bay Rums that I've sampled I like Dominica the best. It has a nice blend of spices and is very mild on the skin, very soothing, much more so that Clubman for example. Highly recommended.
Thanks to Glen I've wanted to try Royall for a couple years now, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I just haven't found a good deal. The last time a deal was advertised you had to buy something like 4 full bottles of Royall aftershave to get a discount, which was more than I wanted to spend in the first place. So if anyone knows where to get Royall products at a great price send me a pm!

Thanked: 7Joegags, I'd recommend Ogallala's Bay Rum. I have only tried Trumpers Bay Rum besides it, but it grew up to be my favorite. Samples are extremely cheap.

Turtle Bay is a good one. Eight ounces for about $20, isn't cheap, but the ladies do seem to like it...
I strop my razor with my eyes closed.
