Boots brand Freshwood for me. Dirt cheap and works well on me. I like the Truefitt & Hill a/s balms as well but usually grab the Boots brand after a shave...

There are many good ones for this time of year.

Some of my favorites, in random order, are:

    Castle Forbes, Lime and Lavender
    Martin de Candre Chopra oil
    Xpec ASB
    Penhaligon's Endymion/Opus 1870
    Boellis Panama 1924
    Floris Elite ASB
    Al's ASB
    DR Harris Arlington
    Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

    My favorites so far are:
    T&H Trafalgar ASB
    Castle Forbes Cedarwood/Sandlewood ASB
If I choose to use an aftershave lotion/splash then Nivea Extra Soothing Balm, no scent, followed by the aftershave.
Balms are really nice here in the Maine winter.

Hands down my favorite is the standard aftershave balm made by The Gentlemens Refinery. It is not oily and absorbs right into my skin. There is also a fragrance free version, but I think the fragrance of the standard version is mild enough that it does not interfere with any other scent I want to wear.

Proraso. Then some Kanwa to moisturize.

I JUST got two big bottles of Floid original from Connaught shaving in the UK and I LOVE this stuff. With a little Kanwa, of course.

I'm also partial to Kiehl's Facial Fuel which I was introduced to by a friend about ten years ago.

My wife really likes Tuscany, but we haven't been able to find any more of it in at least five years or more. I have two partially used bottles, one AS splash, one lotion, and I use them sparingly and rarely. I've got to make them last.

Pinaud Clubman and Burberry "The Beat" eau de toilette at the same time...
    They compliment each other nicely...

Pre de Provence balm use it all year long, love the the sage scent too. They really know how to make wonderful products. Always keep a stash of it in reserve.

I enjoy XPEC Unscented. Goes on cool and soothing.

I agree with your wife Tuscany Balm is a very nice scent I still use Tuscany E.D.T. as well as the After Shave balm, been a fan of it since highschool days. Your right, in its getting harder & harder to find.

Most of the time I don't use one (unless I get a little razor burn). In the Winter, it's Nivea AS Balm for Sensitive Skin. Fragrance free so as not to interfere with anything else.
