I've had the same idea Andrew. I know you have seen others on here as I have. I was looking earlier but then had to leave for a few hours.

It's just a fancy styling. There's other fancy details all over the blade as well. Examples of less-common points on Joseph Elliots: Name: 191576d1422302962-60-pc-joseph-elliot-traveling-salesman-display-set-lpvmf6a.jpg

Picked this one up yesterday. 7/8 half hollow. Removed the pins and cleaned up the blade and scales.

So here is my freshly restored, Wade & Butcher, The Celebrated, Hollow Ground Razor, For Barber's Use.

10Pups gave me a tip where to acqire this beautiful red horn, and MikeB52 was kind enough to cut it down into some useful material to make scales from - thanks to both of these fine SRP members!

So I've had this old blade lying around for quite some time, and it finally got the cleaning up and restoring it truly deserved.

Pics are a bit similar, tried to see if I could capture the deep red of this horn...

Beautiful blade. Beautiful piece of work. Looks about optimal on the restoration--no blurring of the etching. What's the size of the blade?

Thank-you, Val from The Gentleman's Den did a smashing job on it. The original scales were toast, but all the brass is OEM.

    It's a 9/8.

Nice Andrew. I like to use original collars when I can. That turned out a really beauty!
