Thanked: 4826To me it looks like carbon steel from between 1900 ish and ‘69. The logo ran for quite a while and during a very high production era. Fantastic razors. It is probably the pinnacle of razor making and as my favourite brand, I expect your to be amazing.

That box and sleeve, the inlay on the scales, being bought from Japan.
All points to 60's/70's for me.
Nice one!

Thanked: 174Thanks guys! It indeed is carbon steel. In '69 they change the logo (at least on the box) to negative one - background-colored twins in foreground-colored square. Hence my guess.

Just got it as pictured, gonna clean the blade a little and clean and oil the scales, nothing too fancy though, then it's an inspection of the edge and onto the stones, it's gonna go into my daily shaving rotation
All in all, it's in very good condition given the age of the razor! That's an old one, one of two I have with that type of Henckels logo, I was told it's pre-1900Last edited by TristanLudlow; 12-05-2018 at 03:07 PM.

Thanked: 4826The logo that Jazzor uses is from 1969. The twins without the box went from 1900 to 1969. The other renditions all predate 1900. I have not found anyone with any books or records that can show more than that. I would really like to see where all the rest of it fits into history .

One of the dancing twins was apparently ill on the day my razor was manufactured.
That is a 10072 1/2.
You can not see it in this photo, but there is only one twin on the scales too.
