I have a few Clauss and they are GREAT shavers! Once properly honed you will see for yourself.

Gotta find a good pic of my Clauss, one of my finest shavers... Courtesy of nicknbleeding, as we traded hones for razors a while back. My first ever Clauss. Rene put an edge on it for me, and I dropped it on the ground taking it out of the box and dinged the edge. That's just my luck! heheh . Rene had me send it back, just so I could test his edge out and give some feedback. I did. It was great!! Since then I have rehoned it using my own regimen and I tell ya gents, she's just about as good a shaver as exists. I love my Clauss!!
Enjoy!!

Another Clauss addition to my collection. This one came in bad shape, no scales, rust and patina with a lot of pitting. I wasn't sure if she would survive with the plastic tang (no metal in the tang, plastic clear thru to the monkey tail), but it did!! I polished her up good, gave her some new scales and honed her to near perfection. It has a diamond cut tip that is hard to see, but this is a very unique clauss that I'm happy to have!!
Enjoy!

Thanked: 0Here's mine, only recently purchased (only started with the straight a couple of months ago), alongside a very similar model from Geneva Cutlery.

Don't know the age of the Clauss, so I don't know who copied whom.

Thanked: 116Just found a Clauss at an antique shop, measures in at OVER 15/16ths at the toe and a little over 7/8 at the heel. Simply says "Clauss Fremont O", pretty sure the scales are not original but it's going to get a rescaling, a honing and after I shave with it i'll decide if it stays in my collection or goes in the classifieds!
Does anyone else have any information on these massive sized Clauss blades?
