The Moment You Have All Been Waiting For!
My very first Swedish Steel in my very first Home-Made Scales! Un-numbered Heljestrand in Walnut scales with brass pins and washers. Sure the scales are a bit too long, and the wedge is absolute rubbish, but it was a trial run and I'm proud.
Sorry about the quality of the picture, I had to use the camera on my computer.

Weizemanner, I think Heljestrand had much contacts in France, many heljes I've seen has "Kindal" with a "M" or a "Royal" before it markings and boxes. Also, Heljes is quite common on French tradera.
Never seen a BKn model before though....

Maybe it's just my imagination because I'm still new to straight razors, but swedish razors seem to include an unusually high number of framebacks and shoulderless blades.
Is it just me, or is there something to that? And if it is true, why? If someone could answer these or direct me to some helpful reading on swedish straight razor manufacture it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Drew

I have this lovely Heljestrand, with stunning scales done by Sapito, so I thought I'd throw up a picture.

So after some Buying/Selling/Trading, I present to you all my new (and only) Swedish Steel, a lovely 4/8 Erik Anton Berg with a Barber's Notch and Real Ivory Scales.
And yes, it is as pretty as it looks.

I was looking at that second picture thinking that what a simply stunning etching on the blade of a city silhouette, but
it seems that is just some fingerprints. Amazing visual illusion. You can't buy pictures like that.
Or is it etching... You struck gold if it is.Last edited by ursus; 11-27-2009 at 09:34 PM.
