Thanked: 1Here's my Horstator Solinger Wertabeit 1827
Hope you like it and yes I know it needs a bit of cleaning up but I'm just too impatient to show off If anyone out there knows anything about this brand them please let me know as I am completely in the dark about this razor other than it looks cool

Very nice, Pat.
I like the engraving on the spine.
Any idea what the scales are made of?

Thanked: 1Not sure actually, it looks like tortoise shell but I have the feeling it's actually man made so probably plastic.
How would I check what it's made of without damaging it?

Here a Solingen blade I bought from Bob Keyes. It's a F. W. Backhaus from Ohligs-Solingen and is a real beauty. (FYI, that's mineral oil on the blade. I didn't get it thoroughly wiped down before taking this picture.)
