I came across this auction listing two months after it finished. It was for a Robeson display case complete with twelve razors, all with naked lady scales.
The auction was held on Nov. 21, 2009 at Fairfield, Maine and the display sold for $2,587.50. Below are the photographs and description from the auction catalog.
Regards - Walt
"ROBESON STRAIGHT RAZOR STORE DISPLAY CASE. Slant-front countertop wood display case holds twelve razors in velvet lined compartments. Case has a hinged rear door to access a storage compartment, a removable glass top, original gilt lettering decals that read "Robeson ShureEdge" and "The razor that fits your face". Complete with a dozen razors which all have celluloid handles embossed with ornate relief nude designs. SIZE: 20-1/2" w. x 9-1/4" t. x 9-1/2" d. CONDITION: Very good."

Robeson 8/8
Just thought I would join xChris in the club with a Robeson 8/8 I recently found at a flea market. I have been looking a long time for a razor this size and I am really happy it happened to be a Robeson. I am a big fan of this maker ( I have five others) and this one really made my day. The number 2814 is stamped on the reverse side of the tang.

I was doing some research on an old Robeson of mine and came across this site that had some cool info that I thought some of you guys might like to see.
Straight Razors
PS - I'll get my Robeson posted once I can take some pictures.

Thanked: 3Just got into straights recently and it seems like Robeson's are all I find in the flea markets.
The green one is very small (4/8?) with 1307 stamped on the tang.
The black one is around a 6/8 with "Robeson's Best" still etched on the blade. No numbers on the tang. Barber's notch.

I just picked up a 5/8" Robeson hammered tang off of Ebay. Shaved with it for the first time this past Sunday. I agree that it gives really close, comfortable shaves.
The Robeson will most certainly be included in my future str8 razor rotation.Last edited by jhenry; 04-20-2010 at 12:02 PM.
