    Default Boker Wedge

Here's another Boker I just picked up at an antique place in the city I'm in. I've never seen a Boker wedge before, but now I own one! It will end up being 5/8" after it's honed down because of the nicks in the blade. I'm also not sure about the handles being original as well, as they don't have a separate spacer like I usually see. Instead spacer is built into the scales directly, half of the spacer on one scale, and half on the other... I don't think the pics will show that part, but the scales are pretty bad off, so I may just end up making some new ones for it instead, maybe the red oak ones I have sitting around, and an ebony spacer...

Just picked up two more Bokers from an antique dealer. Ones just a pretty basic King Cutter, but it's in generally very good condition. No rust, little hone wear, a very slight smile, and the gold wash is fully intact. The back scale has a crack at the hinge pin, but I think that should be fixable.

The second is definitely an older razor from what I can tell. I think it was originally a square point, but the toe probably got a crack in the tip and it was rounded out. I'm not sure about that though, as it was a very good job that was done to round the tip, very smooth and evenly done. It's very tarnished, but no rust or pitting on the blade (a bit on the jimps). The scales are tight, but are a bit warped or mismatched as they don't line up together. Very little hone wear (less than the cutter actually) and again I think there's a slight smile in the blade.

    Both are full hollow grinds.

Jayaruh, you have a very generous friend. That's a beauty. With a little TLC, it'll clean and polish up really well. Make sure you get it properly honed to do it justice.

Plenty of members on here that will take care of the clean and honing for you. Once its done and received back, put up some more photos of the razor in all its glory. Good luck.

    Default New "A" diamond Boker?

Just at an antique store at a neighbouring city and picked up this unique Boker. A bit of rust on it which will undoubtedly mean that some of the gold etching will be lost, but the blade itself seems like it's in decent condition otherwise, although the scales are too short for it, so I'm worried the tip may be a bit bent.

I really loved the double thumb notch though and for $20 Canadian I couldn't help myself. Will show some pics over it's cleaned up in a few days. Picked up some other blades, but I'll post those in the appropriate clubs as well later.

Apparently I can't add pics from my phone, so I will leave this here as a bookmark and will add pics when I get home in a few hrs... Sorry for the anticipation caused. <laughs>

But I can add them from my laptop!

I noticed the first two didn't include the strange double thumb notch/groove, so I've added a new one that shows it.
