Thanks HARRYWALLY and no problem, I just zoomed in on it.

This is interesting because recently after I was through shaving with my Grampa's razor and had it dried, I was going to put it in the coffin box. Well, this time it didn't fit in all the way so I looked inside and there was a wad of paper balled up in the bottom. I took a long tweezer to pull it out and I found the original wrapper with the instructions. I couldn't believe it, for 45 years my razor slipped in with out catching this paper until now. I had no idea that Grampa had it in there.

My first boker and first ebay purchase all in one. Looks to be in pretty good shape. Gonna clean it up and see what lies underneath. Wish me luck.[emoji1]

Phil, you would be amazed at how nice some Mothers, Maas or another polish would make those scales really look so beautiful. If you can get rid of the rust w/o unpinning it, that's what I'd do. You might try some 0000 steel wool with some WD-40 or any other penetrating lube. I have done it & been successful.

Thanks for the tip with the wd40 I'll give it go. I would like to not have to unpin it. I hit the backside of the blade and tang real quick with some mothers and it came out nice but still more to go. The etching on the other hand is gonna be tricky. Used some fishing line at the pivot to get some crud out of the hinge took some rust too. It's in really great shape so it shouldn't take much to get her shaving again.

Nice find. I have a really nice Boker Imperial which is in here somewhere & I think it is a 6/8.

Phil, I hit one I have that has acid etch this evening. I couldn't remember if I ever tried it so I did it lightly at first & it was ok so I did it some more & it came out better. It seems to have some kind of water stain on it that won't come off & is very faint after I hit it with the Mothers. I would show it here but it isn't a Boker. It is a Frederick Reynolds with a Masonic etching.

Excellent. I was able to pick up a good amount of supplies yesterday. Finally found Maas at ace so I'm gonna give that a try see how it compares to the mothers I have. Also got some steel wool. Gonna try to source some pinning material locally if i can just in case i gotta go all the way. There's always the interwebs too. Here's to success[emoji2].

I was able to get pinning materials at our local Hobby Lobby. Brass rods and other materials were in a little corner near their art supplies.

    Peace,
    Jim
