Here is my Warranted razor that I picked up yesterday at a near by antiques store. The scales are a bit worse for wear and might have to be replaced. I have cleaned up the rust and I intend to try to polish it up. The only marking on the tang or the blade is 'Warranted'. I don't know a lot about it at this point, but I thought you might like to see.

I think in this case 'Warranted' simply means guaranteed, rather than manufactured by a company that holds a 'Royal Warrant'.

For those of us new to straights and this forum, could someone provide a list of the cuttlers that were warranted by the crown?

I have a Tomas Turner that I bought from Gugi as my first straight purchase and my first shave.

I had two ivory scaled Thomas Turner's in a case and sold them. They both had "Sharper Than A Serpent's Tooth" on the blade. For anyone who doesn't know, that is a quote from Shakespeare's King Lear. Lear tells his daughter Goneril, "How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is, to have a thankless child." Best I've ever seen it done was by Paul Schofield in Peter Brooks production of King Lear.

Just acquired this 7-Day set of Thomas Turners in Elephant Ivory. Needs some work, but I think they'll clean up nicely!

Congratulations on that 7 day set!!

I thought about getting them (both times) but passed.

Then, right after you'd bought them my wife walks in and says----

"You need to go on line and buy them."

    Oh, well.... Enjoy them.
