Thanked: 235Here is my Warranted razor that I picked up yesterday at a near by antiques store. The scales are a bit worse for wear and might have to be replaced. I have cleaned up the rust and I intend to try to polish it up. The only marking on the tang or the blade is 'Warranted'. I don't know a lot about it at this point, but I thought you might like to see.

I think in this case 'Warranted' simply means guaranteed, rather than manufactured by a company that holds a 'Royal Warrant'.

For those of us new to straights and this forum, could someone provide a list of the cuttlers that were warranted by the crown?
I have a Tomas Turner that I bought from Gugi as my first straight purchase and my first shave.

I had two ivory scaled Thomas Turner's in a case and sold them. They both had "Sharper Than A Serpent's Tooth" on the blade. For anyone who doesn't know, that is a quote from Shakespeare's King Lear. Lear tells his daughter Goneril, "How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is, to have a thankless child." Best I've ever seen it done was by Paul Schofield in Peter Brooks production of King Lear.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Just acquired this 7-Day set of Thomas Turners in Elephant Ivory. Needs some work, but I think they'll clean up nicely!

Congratulations on that 7 day set!!
I thought about getting them (both times) but passed.
Then, right after you'd bought them my wife walks in and says----
"You need to go on line and buy them."
Oh, well.... Enjoy them.
