I finally got around to looking at a bunch of "naked" blades that I bought back in early-2008, and discovered these two stub-tails. I need to do something with them. The first is a full 7/8", and as massive as it looks; the other is 5/8" at the toe, tapering to 4/8" at the heel, and seems "petite", in comparison. Go figure.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

I did not wanted to make any fuzz because I was bidding on some of those fine blades. Unfotunately some drunken bidders went ape and at the very last minute and used uncle Sam way too much (here is some proof Very Old Warrented Straight Razor Wedge Blade C 1820 Travel Size | eBay). Luckily, out of three I got a fairly cheap Stenton that looks re-grinded but anyway… still is old and beautiful…
Here is what they left for me (snif!): http://www.ebay.com/itm/VERY-OLD-G-c...vip=true&rt=nc

Here is my newest one (as of today). Hope it comes well from Sweden… and it is a loong way when I am still waiting for another Joseph Smith and Sons and a (strange) Stenton (those from the USA) and a DD and a… you know… The RAD. The RAD man hehe!

Heres my very old french Stub-Tail, its 6/8", wedge and has Bone Scales.
It was restored before i got it, so it has a mirror finish and in my eyes the wrong Pins (Hemispheric Washers would have been better and more original), the Scales are original (with Lead Wedge) but cleaned very nice.

Can anyone give me an Info how old this Razor maybe?
The Manufacturers Name isnt good visible, seems like a Rieux , Bieux with a lost Letter before it.

Very beautiful blade, with a typical nose you can also find with Pradier and other french razors of the begining of the XIXe.

I'd say around 1820 for this one.

    Congratulation !
